Neuville, now Hanninen. Who else is going to Hyundai?

Thierry Neuville will drive for Hyundai in 2014 as the team's lead driver, with Finland’s Juho Hanninen being confirmed recently as driver for an unspecified number of events starting with Rally Sweden.

It is now expected that Dani Sordo will be named to the team this week, with his first event being the Rally Monte Carlo.

The news about Sordo was leaked by Hyundai Spain, sending a tweet out that said: "Dani Sordo will run with Hyundai on the Monte Carlo Rally and other rounds of the world championship."

The tweet was quickly removed.

Sordo has been on the podium at least once in every season he has competed in the WRC, a career that started in 2006.

Hanninen is the champion of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge, and 2011 Super2000 WRC seasons, and spent time on the testing team for the Hyundai WRC team.

"I have been working with the team a lot since May and it has been a really fantastic project to be involved in," said Hanninen.

"It's been a pleasure to work with them in testing and I really respect the opportunity to drive some rallies for the team in 2014."

"He has shown great loyalty to our new team and it is fitting that he joins us at a number of specific events during our maiden WRC season," said Michel Nandan, Hyundai WRC team boss.

“Juho has done an outstanding job in testing this year. He has proven to be a very complete driver with a perfect mix of speed and technical abilities, as well as being a real team player giving valuable feedback to our team of engineers. He brings with him a vast experience of WRC and he has completed the most kilometres in the Hyundai i20 WRC this year so we feel he will be an ideal complement to Thierry."

Chris Atkinson and Bryan Bouffier are the other two drivers who were involved with the development program this past year.
