November, 10th 2013 Young Driver AMR and it’s three drivers Christoffer Nygaard, Kristian Poulsen und Nicki Thiim dominated the penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Shanghai/China, but came short of a finish. The all Danish driver line up started from the GTE-Am class Pole Position in their Aston Martin Racing entered Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin Vantage GTE and led for exactly 100 laps, before a electrical issue forced Poulsen to stop on track. The Aston Martin subsequently retired from the race.

„All the drivers and the team were really strong today and nobody put a foot wrong, so we are deeply disappointed about the early end of a strong race“, Young Driver AMR´s Jan Struve said. „We certainly had the pace today for another class win, but out of a sudden a yet unknown electric failure stopped the car on track. It’s very disappointing that we were denied a class win, but things like this can happen in motorsport. Until then, Christoffer, Kristian and Nicki did a perfect job all weekend, and it also looked very bright in terms of the championship. But we were not lucky today and rewarded with a finish. We are now looking forward to the last round of the World Championship at the end of this month in Bahrain. We hope that we can finish the season with another podium finish. After this tough today here in China, the drivers and the team would deserve this.”
