Team BOC's Jason Bright took full advantage of his VF Commodore's speed to bring the car home fourth in today's 200km feature race at Winton and in the process gathered some valuable championship points.

The third and final race of round three of the V8 Supercar championship brought out the best in both team and driver.

To avoid the chance of any simultaneous pitstops with team mate Fabian Coulthard during a safety car, the decision was made to bring Bright into the pits early and put him out of sync with the Lockwood Racing Commodore.

This allowed Bright to jump ahead of those around him and he managed stay there despite worn tyres at the end of his two race stints.

The car was really strong and we had great tyre life. We had to compromise our strategy a bit so we were out of sync with Fabian which meant we had to be pretty lame at the end of each stint as the tyres wore down. The car was really strong though. I had a tough time at the end of my second stint and dumped a bunch of spots so I think we could have been a little bit further up if we didn't get tangled up with all that at the end of that stint but other than that the car was great. I thought we got it right at the right end of the weekend. Considering we were having some real trouble this weekend, to come out of here with the second most points out of everyone here behind Frosty for the championship its not bad at all.

FPR's Mark Winterbottom won the race from James Courtney and Tim Slade.

Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard was looking set for a strong result, shadowing eventual winner Winterbottom but a pit lane speeding penalty ruined his chances of a podium spot.

Coulthard now sits third in the championship after three rounds on 658 points, 15 behind Mark Winterbottom and 43 behind series leader Craig Lowndes.
