After qualifying 12th, Coates Hire Racing’s Nick Percat put in another solid performance to eventually finish today's 69-lap race 11th at Pukekohe Raceway.

Percat made another excellent start and was running 10th early on before making the first of his two pitstops. He dropped back to 19th and then worked his way forward to sixth before making his final stop on lap 37.

He returned in 21st place and was solidly working his way back up the field, but on lap 59 while battling Jamie Whincup for eighth place, they went off the track together losing two places.

From there Percat eventually finished 11th.

Over the four races that made up the ITM 500 Auckland Percat enjoyed three top ten finishes crossing the line 6th, 7th, 7th and 11th in the HHA Racing Commodore.

Today’s race was won by Mark Winterbottom (Falcon) from local hero Scott McLaughlin, (Volvo) with Winterbottom’s teammate Chaz Mostert scoring the final podium spot.

Rounding out the top ten were Shane van Gisbergen, (Ford), Michael Caruso in the first of the Nissan’s, Jason Bright (Holden) Will Davison (Mercedes), Rick Kelly (Nissan), Fabian Coulthard, (Holden) and Jamie Whincup (Holden).

Nick Percat: “I had another strong run today but didn’t quite have the pace we enjoyed in the earlier races over the weekend. We were on target for another top ten finish until both Jamie and I locked our brakes and ran off the track. There weren’t enough laps to get those spots back, but overall I am pleased with the weekend”.
