Focused on returning to victory lane, and challenging for Championship class supremacy in the 2014 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, ZSports has moved into its new headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn.. The Minnesota organization is hard at work getting its two-car effort ready for off-season testing, and the upcoming title fight.

Led by founders Steve Thomson and Ron Boltik, the highly-skilled ZSports squad has already begun readying its two Van Diemen/Mazda, and installing the new JL-200 sequential five-speed transmissions.

"We're really excited about the new gearbox," stated Thomson. "It will add reliability, along with improved drivability for the drivers."

The recent 2013 season marked the inaugural Championship class campaign for ZSports in the USF2000 Championship. Building on both a race-winning history in the 2012 National class - four wins and nine top-three finishes - and a Rookie of the Year effort in the 2009 F2000 Championship Series, the highly-regarded outfit was quickly up to speed and challenging more experienced and established multi-car teams. ZSports secured two visits to the post-race podium, and three additional top-five results in the highly-competitive first rung of the Mazda Road to Indy program.

"We had a very successful first season in the Championship class," added Thomson. "The results added to the team's knowledge and experience, and we are focused on continuing a winning season in 2014. The team is busy getting ready for the upcoming USF2000 Championship season. We are looking forward to getting back on track, and continue working with talented drivers."

ZSports is currently looking to commence a pre-season testing program, with the goal of continuing its legacy of helping train and develop talented young racers. The first opportunity to go racing comes via the traditional six-race Cooper Tires Winterfest Championship, which takes place at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, La., on February 21-22, and at Barber Motorsports Park on February 25-26.

The 2014 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season gets underway on March 29-30, with Rounds One and Two on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., in conjunction with the IndyCar Series season-opener.
