Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team travel to Lexington, Ohio to participate in the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series event at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The track is a 2.4-mile, 15-turn road course, and Sadler will turn his first laps on Thursday during an extended Nationwide Series practice session. Sadler is no stranger to road courses, with 11 starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and 24 starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The event at Mid-Ohio serves as the third of three road courses on the Nationwide Series schedule.Elliott Sadler: "Since this is the first NASCAR event at Mid-Ohio, we really don't know what to expect. I have been watching a lot of film of different races on the course, and watching YouTube videos that people have posted to try to learn the track. I have track map that I have been studying for a few weeks as well.
I do this so I can mentally prepare and visualize where the next curve. It is a 2.4-mile, 15-turns track with a lot of blind curves. It's a very hard track, from the people that I have talked to.
First thing that I do is get a visual of the track, and then do my best when I get there to get a handle of it quickly. I'm excited to participate in this inaugural event and be in Nationwide Insurance's home state."
