NASCAR Unites is looking to galvanize our industry and fans in support of the Hurricane Sandy victims. The NASCAR Foundation will serve as the primary vehicle for contributions through a landing page on NASCAR.COM/Unites, which allows fans to make a donation online or bid on our auction items in support of this cause.

Since The NASCAR Foundation is the exclusive charity vendor on the NASCAR.COM auction website, 100 percent of proceeds raised from this auction will be donated to support Sandy disaster relief efforts. The website is currently live for donations and the auction will kick off on Monday, Nov. 5.

NASCAR has initiated a support plan to help the relief efforts on and off the track in a relationship with the best fans in sports, and in a collective push to help those in need. The organization's efforts include PSA's to begin airing Saturday, Nov. 3, through the race weekend in Phoenix (Nov. 9-11) to drive awareness of the call to action and auction items; support through The NASCAR Foundation and NASCAR's social media channels; a portion of NASCAR Unites band sales on NASCAR.COM and at the track for a designated time frame will benefit the disaster relief efforts.

The efforts of NASCAR and its fans will benefit:

--Save the Children: Funds will help in deployment of immediate relief and provide for long-term recovery programs. Their priority towards children's well being will be serviced through restoring access to child care and other essential services, as well as helping children deal with loss.

--Feeding America: Efforts will support their program to prepare and distribute food, water and supplies throughout the affected areas. The organization estimates 25-35 of its network of food banks have been affected by the storm.

--AmeriCares: Donations will aid their program in getting targeted medicine and supplies, such as tetanus vaccines, ready for shipment to affected areas; chronic care medicines -- including insulin, first aid, water, emergency family kits and personal hygiene kits -- will be deployed for the displaced.

In support of the communities affected in large numbers by the devastating super storm that touched down in the northeast this week, NASCAR Unites encourages all of our fans, industry and partners to join us in raising funds towards aiding in the relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Donations can be made by visiting NASCAR.com/Unites or bid via online auction.
