Are you happy to get the announcement out of the way? "Yeah, for sure. It's definitely cool to be able to announce that and been a busy week because of that. Trying to make sure we got out there this week in our Home Depot car and finish the job and try to get ourselves in the Chase this week. That's going to be really important to do, so we're going to try to do that and I'm excited about next year about getting to work with Brad (Keselowski), Roger (Penske) and all the guys over there. It's going to be fun."

How do you see your odds to make the Chase? "I think our chances are we've got to go and win. At least we know exactly what we've got to do. We don't have to carry a calculator with us or anything. We know it's do or die and it's kind of nice to know that, but at the same time no easy task either. There's a lot of guys out there and I think this race is going to be super entertaining. There's just a lot of guys that are pretty much in the same boat as us, so you never know. You never know what's going to happen. I think it will be pretty interesting to see who is in the top-five on that final restart, because I think that's when it's going to get crazy."

What makes Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing so successful at Richmond? "We've had good cars here in the past and I think we've finish third here before too. We've run good here before and it's good to know that going in to it. I think Kyle (Busch) and Denny (Hamlin) have both done a good job here. They do a good job on knowing what they need in practice and tuning their cars in very well. We're going to have plenty of competition out there to beat and try to do it."

Have you and Kyle Busch discussed what you need to accomplish to make the Chase? "We haven't talked about it together, but we've talked about it with our teams and try to make sure we put ourselves in the best position to make it happen."

What makes Richmond a good final race before the Chase? "I think everyone likes this track. I don't think there's any driver out there that dislikes Richmond. I think it's a good race track, it's good racing here, you can move around, there's some tire wear -- quite a bit of tire wear, so the strategy will come in on that -- and there's always a chance it's a fuel mileage race. You can have that happen too, so many scenarios that can happen and I think that's why a lot of people like this race track. It's always short track racing too, so there will be that beating and banging out there that everyone likes to see."

Do you think you can win tomorrow night? "Yeah, we can win here. I wouldn't be here if I couldn't win, right? That's a bad attitude to come to the race track thinking you can't win. I think we've had a solid run here before. I think we've learned a lot in the spring -- we didn't have the best run then, but I think we learned where we went wrong and what we can do to be better. Hopefully, our cars are in general better and I think out teammates have run good here in the past, so I can work out that way. I think there's a lot of good things in our favor to go out there and have a solid run at least and go out there and try to win it."

What is your plan for the race? "Plan of attack is to go out there and win and nothing less, because anything less will be a failure for our Chase hopes, so that's what it is. We'll do the best we can. It's fun to be in this position to have a shot at making it happen and a shot at getting into the Chase -- that's exciting. You never know what can happen. There's so many different things that can happen out there, but we know what we've got to do. We're going to be strong about it and if we make it awesome. If not, we're still going to finish off the season and win as many as we can."

Will this be a fun race? "It's going to be crazy and I'm so excited about the race. I think it's going to be a lot of fun out there. It is cool for the fans to be able to see this many guys going out there to try and make it in. This is one race. This is the one race that we have that is probably going to be the most important race we have all year -- our last shot at it to make it happen. There's not going to be a dull moment in the race. There's not going to be one lap where you can relax and it's going to be ridiculous to the last lap."
