GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion – “We were just battling overall grip. Our car just didn’t have any grip right when we unloaded off the truck and never fixed it. We were way loose in the corner and had no rear grip. We chattered the front tires. We chattered the rear tires. There at the end we chattered all four, so it was just back and forth with all four tires chattering but no grip at all. We were doing really well in the middle part of the race and I thought, ‘Man, we’ve got something. We’re going.’ We got up to 10th and then just went straight backwards. I don’t know what happened.”
MATT KENSETH – No. 17 Zest Ford Fusion – “On a long run we had about a 10th-place car, which is probably a little bit better than we usually do here. But on short runs we weren’t very good at all and then we got that caution there at the end and that didn’t work in our favor. We were a little bit better on a long run, but weren’t that great overall and was maybe a 10th-place car.”
YOU’RE 11TH IN THE STANDINGS. ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW THINGS HAVE STARTED? “I think that’s where we were when we started. Everybody wants to be leading, but last week was last week and this week we got everything we could get out of our car. It wasn’t much better than that. I thought we had really good pit stops and did what we could for strategy.”
CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion – “It was just frustrating. That’s as fast as our car will go. We’ve got some work to do and we all know it, so we’re just gonna go back and work really hard. I think the balance was as good as the guys could get it. I think Chad and those guys did a good job with it, but there is just something missing from our whole setup and that’s what we’ve got to work on.”
MARCOS AMBROSE – No. 9 Stanley Ford Fusion – “It was a bad day and I just feel bad for everybody. We all put a lot of effort in and it’s just nasty when you get results like that. It was just a struggle from the moment we left pit lane. The car felt like it wasn’t handling that well and it never got any better. We just didn’t have speed. We could get balance, but we just never had any speed in it and then you’ve got to start butchering the car to try to get it to run some speed. That allows you to run two or three fast ones, but then it catches up with you.”
