Busy week for Level 5 Motorsports driver Ryan Briscoe
Scott Tucker encouraged team driver Ryan Briscoe to take the weekend off in order to race in the Milwaukee IndyFest at the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin.

Le Mans, France -- In the midst of preparing for the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans, Level 5 Motorsports team owner and driver Scott Tucker encouraged team driver Ryan Briscoe to take the weekend off in order to race in the Milwaukee IndyFest at the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin.
On the heels of a 12th place finish in the Indianapolis 500 where he competed in a Chip Ganassi Racing entry, Briscoe was recently tapped to pilot the No. 4 National Guard Chevrolet for Panther Racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series.
“Ryan had a great opportunity to run an IndyCar in Milwaukee,” Tucker said. “We know he is committed to our program, and I wanted him to be able to do both. He’s a great competitor and his eagerness to take on this additional challenge is proof of that.” The 2012 Indianapolis 500 pole winner, Briscoe was also in the Panther Racing open-wheel car in the Chevrolet Duel at Detroit in early June.
“Racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a great honor and I am thrilled to be there with Scott, Marino and the Level 5 team,” Briscoe said. “This will be a quick turn-around to the States and back, and it will be great to be in the car for Panther Racing over the weekend. But, I will be ready to race next weekend at Le Mans.”
Briscoe’s résumé includes a successful five-year stint in the IZOD IndyCar Series with Penske Racing, the team he also drove for in the ALMS as part of its factory Porsche RS Spyder program in 2007 and 2008.
As soon as the checkers wave over the Milwaukee IndyFest Saturday, Briscoe will make a quick return to Le Mans, France, where he will continue to participate in Level 5’s preparations for the storied 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Tucker, Briscoe and Franchitti have already captured P2 class victories in the 12 Hours of Sebring and at Laguna Seca earlier this season, and Level 5 is well on its way in the pursuit of its third-consecutive class championship.
In the meantime, Level 5 will continue preparations for Le Mans, which include the official event kick off in the city center for the annual scrutineering and administrative checks.
The 90th anniversary 24 Hours of Le Mans gets underway Saturday, June 22. SPEED TV will carry live coverage of the race in the United States.
