8Star Motorsports ready to race

The 8Star team is currently second in the WEC championship point standings, four points behind the No. 95 Aston Martin Racing team.

8Star WEC Up to Date… The No. 81 8Star Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 has earned podium finishes in the first two races of the 2013 WEC season. The driver trio of Enzo Potolicchio, Rui Aguas and Philipp Peter finished third in the LMGTE-Am class in the season-opening Six Hours of Silverstone in England.

Enzo, Aguas and Matteo Malucelli earned the top spot on the podium for the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The 8Star team is currently second in the championship point standings, four points behind the No. 95 Aston Martin Racing team.

Enzo at Le Mans… 8Star Motorsports team owner and co-driver Enzo Potolicchio returns to Circuit de la Sarthe as a Le Mans champion, having earned the 2012 LMP2 class victory driving the No. 44 entry with co-drivers Ryan Dalziel and Tom Kimber-Smith. The No.44 team also earned the 2012 FIA WEC LMP2 class championship.

2013 Le Man Teammates… The No. 81 8Star Motorsports co-drivers are Enzo, Rui Aguas and Jason Bright. Aguas competed in the previous two 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE-Am class with co-drivers Robert Kauffmann and Michael Waltrip (2011), and Kauffmann and Brian Vickers (2012).

Bright currently competes fulltime in the International V8 Supercars Championship and will make his Le Mans debut in the 81st edition of the crown jewel of international endurance sports car racing.

Full Week of Activity… Scrutineering took place Sunday-Monday, June 16-17, practice and qualifying take place Wednesday, June 19, with two more qualifying sessions Thursday, June 20. The race begins Saturday, June 22, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
