JK Tyre announces entry-level IndiKarting National series
To further promote grassroot motorsport in India, JK Tyre has launched IndiKarting National Series with five rounds scheduled in the opening season.

The IndiKarting National Series is an entry-level karting championship featuring four-stroke karts, with JK Tyre claiming it to be the most affordable karting championship in the world.
The series will comprise of three classes on the basis of karter’s age - Pro Cadet for those between 7-12 years of age, Pro Junior for 12-16 year old karters and Pro Senior for racers above 16 years of age.
In addition to the above three categories, there will be seven support races to bolster participation. These include Senior Amateur, Interschool, Corporate, Masters (Age 32+), Women’s & Media.
Speaking about the new championship, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Head, JK Tyre Racing, said: “We are proud to present our latest initiative, the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series; and believe that this championship will prove to be a milestone in the development programme of our budding drivers helping them to graduate to the next level.
“JK Tyre has always believed in promoting motorsport and making it more accessible and affordable to talent irrespective of affordability in a sport which has traditionally been highly inaccessible,’’ he added.
Held in conjunction with Tata Motors, the IndiKarting Series will begin in Pune on April 23 and 24 before heading to Goa the following weekend.
Vadodara and Ludhiana will host the third and fourth rounds respectively in the month of May, with Delhi bringing the season to a close on June 11 and 12.
The winner of the series gains an automatically entry into JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship, with the Indian tyre-supplier sponsoring the drive.
Further, the senior category championship will get a chance to prove his mettle in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship that features FB02 single-seater race cars.
