Hunter-Reay fastest in final practice on wet track in Mid-Ohio

Storms in Ohio delayed the IZOD Indy Car final practice, but it also gave the drivers a chance to test the slick track. Ryan Hunter-Reay topped the time sheets with a 1:32.863 (87.535 mph). Second fastest was pole winner Will Power; his best was 1:34.575 (85.950 mph). Tony Kanaan was third with his best lap of 1:34.758 (85.768 mph)
The main point for most of the teams was to shake out how their cars will handle and what setup changes they might need if the rain continues or returns prior to the start at 1:00pm (EDT).
Most of the IndyCar drivers all said “it was really slippery!”
The final grid for today’s Honda Indy 200 on the 2.258 mile road course was released with two penalties announced that will drop two drivers 10 spots on the grid. Helio Castroneves will now start in the 23rd position while Alex Tagliani drops back to 14th on the grid due to the engine change rule: 15.6.1. The #3 Penske Racing is powered by Chevrolet; while the #98 engine for Team Barracuda is a Honda.
The cloud coverage remains in the Mansfield – Lexington area of Ohio.
