Alex Job Racing celebrates 25 years in racing at Sebring

TAVARES, Fla. - When the green flag flies at the 62nd running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 15, Alex and Holly Job will celebrate their 25th year of running the historic Florida race.

What started in the racing couple's garage in 1988 has blossomed into a racing lineage that stretches over 25 years. Job started racing, like many in the sport, as a driver/owner. As a driver in 1990, Job had a second-place finish at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and a second-place finish at the 12 hours of Sebring in 1991.

Although the racing team has two wins on their record at Daytona (1999 and 2013) and two wins at Le Mans (with Petersen in 2003 and with BAM! in 2005) their legacy is more carved in asphalt and concrete at Sebring International Raceway.

"Sebring has been a track that we have posted the most wins in our team's history," Job said. "I am not really sure why that is over the past 25 years. We have always seemed to have the right combination of engineering, car preparation and driver combinations to put ourselves in a position to win the race. For most of our quarter century, it was the second race on the schedule and then went to become the first and now with the new TUDOR Championship it is once again the second. We've really seen it all."

Alex Job Racing has won their class at the historic track a record nine times: 2013, 2012 (one-two in GTC), 2010 (podium sweep of one-two-three in GTC), 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999 and 1995 a four year in a row run.

"We had a very special run of four wins in a row from 2001 to 2004," Job continued. "However the most-recent successes, last year's win and of course, probably my favorite, is the podium sweep of the GTC Class in 2010 where we went one-two-three. When you go to the podium celebration at 11 p.m. and all three teams, with the nine drivers are up on the podium. The only it would have been any better is if we ran a fourth car."

Looking to add a tenth cup to the Sebring trophy case, Alex Job Racing will field two cars in next weekend's race - the defending GTC race champions in the No. 22 WeatherTech Racing Porsche and the No. 23 Team Seattle Porsche.
