Beginning his 6th season with RSR Motorsports, Trinkler was happy with the results at the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Daytona pre-season testing sessions.

Altamonte Springs, FL – P1 Groupe driver Owen Trinkler entered his sixth season with RSR Motorsports this past weekend at the 2013 Roar Before the 24 Test Days at Daytona International Speedway.

The five-time GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series winning driver was poised to look Daytona in the eyes and tame the beast that has ended so many racing dreams.

Trinkler and company rolled their #197 Honda Civic Si out in the first practice on Friday, where they turned 14-laps for a sixth best time on the speed charts.

That practice alone must be a sign of great things to come as the Trinkler was one of the few drivers to negotiate the wet and dry track conditions in the same session.

The Nashville native and his team would only compete in two more practice sessions on the weekend, finishing in the Top-10 on speed in one out of the two.

After seeing the fight and determination his team has, the racing veteran had nothing but positive sentiments following the weekend.

“I’m really happy with the way this weekend’s test went” Trinkler stated. “Our Honda Civic Si came out of the gate fast and we were able to crack the Top-10 on the speed charts in the first session out.

It was tough on the first day going from the wet to dry track conditions but everyone handled that well. In the end, we ran three sessions and were in the top quarter of the field in all but one.

In the coming weeks we will make the changes needed to come back here in a few weeks with a chance to win!”

Trinkler and RSR Motorsports will be back at Daytona International Speedway later this month for the Daytona 200. The event will mark the first on the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series schedule.
