Christian Fittipaldi leads evening practice at Kansas Speedway

The night practice for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series at Kansas Speedway ended with the Action Express Racing Corvette DP on top.

Christian Fittipaldi led Friday evening’s second round of Rolex Sports Car Series practice with a lap of 1:10.010 in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP. He was followed by Memo Rojas, with a lap of 1:10.154 in the No. 01 Telcel/TELMEX BMW/Riley, and Burt Frisselle, 1:10.167 in the No. 9 Action Express Racing Corvette DP.

Alex Tagliani, stepping in for Max Papis in the No. 61 AIM Autosport Team FXDD Ferrari Italia, led GT with a lap of 1:15.382, followed by Patrick Long in the No. 73 Park Place Motorsports Porsche GT3, 1:15.406, and Bryan Sellers, racing the No. 46 Fall-Line Motorsports Audi R8 for the first time, 1:15.576.

Tom Long led GX in the No. 70 Mazdaspeed/Castrol/SpeedSource Mazda6, 1:21.913.
Qualifying begins at 9:25 p.m. later on Friday.

Memo Rojas turns fastest lap in opening Rolex Practice at Kansas Speedway

Memo Rojas turned the fastest lap in opening Rolex Sports Car Series practice on Friday, turning a lap of 1:10.276 (121.41 mph) in the No. 01 Telcel/TELMEX BMW/Riley. Joao Barbosa was second, followed by Alex Gurney.
 
Ozz Negri was fastest midway through the session before John Pew impacted the wall in the NASCAR banking driving the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford/Riley. Pew was uninjured, with the crew evaluating the damage.
 
Leh Keen was fastest in GT driving the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia, 1:15.940 (112.35 mph), while Sylvain Tremblay led GX in the No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda6, 1:21.948 (104.11 mph).
