Trident Racing's Kevin Ceccon and Nathanael Berthon started respectively from the 5th and 11th row on the grid. Kevin drove a good race and managed to clinch a valuable 8th place finish.

It's been a very positive result for the whole team as he scored his first points in standings and the pole for Race 2. Berthon suffered from an unlucky run. The Frenchman was forced to retire due to a contact on lap 5 and the Stewards penalized him with 10 grid places in Race 2.

The Barcelona weekend will be rounded out tomorrow by Race 2. Ceccon will take-off from the 1st row position but not from the pole because of the penalty given to Palmer and that permits to Kevin to gain one position in the final classification, while Berthon is set to start from the 13th row.

Kevin Ceccon: “We started with softer tires and in the first few laps my performance has been very good. We went for a late pit-stop, late by just a couple of laps that proved crucial in the race's strategy. Once back on-track I found myself behind Leimer and I was noticeably quicker than him.

Unfortunately, I never had a real chance to pass because he had good traction off the corners. I try to manage my tires' wear in the best possible way and finally achieved one very very positive result for myself and the team. Now I aim at completing the job and take full advantage from the 1st row in tomorrow's Race 2”.

Nathanael Berthon: “My race started well, I had a really quick getaway and got five spots back in the first two laps. Then during the fourth lap I was fighting with Canamasas and once I hit the brakes for turn 10 I literally took off on the back of his car.

I feel I braked in the same spot as always but honestly when you're fighting it's difficult to find references. It's pretty bitter because I was definitely not looking forward to such an hard and early ending…"
