After completing his first full season in the GP2 Series 21-year-old Austrian Rene Binder has been selected to test for Arden International Motorsport at the upcoming winter tests in Abu Dhabi.

Getting the opportunity to test Ardens 612 hp GP2 car on the first of three testing days on the Challenging Yas Marina Circuit is undoubtedly good news for the young talent from the Tyrol region, as he was keen to explain.

Rene Binder: “Testing with one of the leading teams in the history of F1 junior categories obviously adds a bit of pressure and to be perfectly honest with you I was pretty amazed when Arden invited me to join them in Abu Dhabi. As you know, we had quite a strong first half of the season with Venezuela GP Lazarus but a difficult summer as well. That’s why I was really happy with our 9th place finish in Singapore. I am aiming for points in Abu Dhabi and I am also motivated to do a good job during the testing days afterwards. Of course, it’s a good sign to get on the radar screen of other teams and to have a few different options for the future.“

Arden’s sporting director Julian Rouse said: “We are really looking forward to working with Rene in Abu Dhabi , he now has a full season of GP2 as experience and on a number of occasions has shown some real potential in his driving .With the test being straight after the race weekend we will be able to work on a very constructive test plan together”

Arden International Motorsport was founded by Infiniti Red Bull Racing‘s team principal Christian Horner and his father Garry Horner in 1997 to establish one of the most successful talent factories in the official feeder series of Formula One.
