Mercedes on front row of Bahrain starting grid with Nico Rosberg in front

Nico Rosberg showed today that he is also able to get pole positions. Mercedes locked the front row with Bottas and Perez behind.

As the sun were going down, the Q1 has begun.

Lotus were first to came out on track with soft tires on. Nico Hulkenberg did a lap of 1:36.883 with Romain Grosjean right behind him posting 1:37.400. Drivers rolled their cars to a track, that became chillier than in today's FP3 - just 29 degrees.

Ricciarado's first fast lap were spoiled by traffic but it was enough to get 1st string in timesheet 10 minutes before the end of Q1 segment.

Alonso had issues with turn 10 and did a lap 0.053 seconds slower than RBR driver.

But then, as everyone accustomed to, Mercedes drivers again claimed first two rows of results putting Ricciardo and Alonso in 3rd and 4th places.

Gutierrez changed to soft tires and managed to do a lap time enough to get P3. But about the end of Q1 Williams' drivers were out, and claimed 2nd position by Bottas and 4th by Massa.

By the end of the first segment most of drivers did another pull and positions were significantly changed, Hulkenberg got P1 thanks to 1.34.874 laptime with his teammate in 3rd.

Maldonado, Sutil, Kobayashi, Bianchi, Ericsson and Chilton left in Q1.

In first try of Q2 Rosberg done a best time of 1:33.708, Hamilton was 0.164 seconds slower with Ricciardo chasing them. Alonso set in 4th losing more then a second to Rosberg's time.

McLaren's drivers later mixed Ferrari's times and claimed 4th for Button and 6th for Magnussen.

5 minutes till Q2 end Force India drivers were not looking so competitive as in FP with Hulkengerg siting in 8th and Mexican Perez just 11th.

Ricciardo showed his speed after all managing to get 3rd spot while his teammate Vettel, who suffered of bad downshifting, were just 10th and then was kicked by Perez who found a 'force' to post better time.

Williams drivers were quite lucky in second segment and claimed 7th position by Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa behind in 8th.

STR drivers wasn't able to get into Q3 alongside with Nico Hulkenberg, Esteban Gutierrez, Romain Grosjean and 4-time World Champion Sebastien Vettel.

12 minutes 10 best drivers of previous segments were fighting for best starting spots for tomorrows race at Sakhir. All drivers got a new set of soft tires, but not all used it.

Williams drivers were sent out first to be able to use free track, Bottas posted first best time of 1:34.247, Massa was slower - 1:34.511, Perez was between them.

Rosberg showed his best lap of 1:33.185 with Hamilton 0.279 seconds back.

McLaren's Button was 1.981 slower than Rosberg's time and Ricciardo behind him chased by Button's teammate Magnussen.

Then Ferrari's driver Kimi Raikkonen came out to set his only one fast lap in Q3, while Fernando Alonso was on 9th spot with 2 minutes left to go, Iceman posted a time that was enough to get 6th place leaving Button behind him. Alonso ended the session in 10th place as Magnussen moved him one position down.

Drivers came out to do a last try and Ricciardo claimed 3rd result but he will start 10 positions lower for his previous penalty. Massa hasn't improved his result and went back to 8th.
