All the facts and figures on the 2014 European Le Mans Series circuits

While the UK, Italy, Austria and France welcome back the series for a second successive year, a new country has been added: Portugal.

Following its renaissance in 2013, the ELMS is busy getting ready for its second season in its new-look format. This follows on from a lively 2013, a season which was enthusiastically enjoyed by teams, drivers, media and spectators alike.

This year European Le Mans Series competitors will meet up five times on five of Europe's finest circuits to take part in some of the best endurance racing, and in 2014 each of these races will take place over a period of four hours.

While the UK, Italy, Austria and France welcome back the series for a second successive year, a new country has been added which will host the grand final in 2014: Portugal.

SILVERSTONE – Great Britain -19/04/2014

The European Le Mans Series will make its first appearance of the season on the Silverstone Circuit on 18/19 April.

A true temple of motorsport and host to the BritishF1 Grand Prix, Silverstone will see competitors sharing track time with the FIA World Endurance Championship. The 4 Hours of Silverstone will be held on Saturday, 19 April on the 5.9 km track which, last year, saw ELMS entrants having to battle it out under torrential rain.

IMOLA – Italy – 19/-5/2014

For the second consecutive year, the Autodromo Enzo & Dino Ferrari in Emilia Romagna will welcome the ELMS for the second round of the season in May.

After hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix of San Marino for 25 years, the famous Italian circuit was modernized in 2007 by architect Hermann Tilke. Come along on Sunday, 18 May to see teams and drivers at work on the very technical and difficult Italian track. With complex corners which require a superior level of driving, Imola is one of the few European circuits on which the cars run anti-clockwise.

RED BULL RING – Austria – 20/7/2014

The 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring will be held on the fabulous Austrian circuit located in the heart of the Styrian Alps on Sunday, 20 July.

Well known to motorsport fans, sometimes under the names of Österreichring, Spielberg or Zeltweg, the circuit now owned by Dietrich Mateschitz of the RedBull brand has been completely rebuilt and modernised, re-opening in2011. Back on the Formula 1 calendar this year, it welcomes many international races and hosted its first European endurance race last year with the ELMS.

PAUL RICARD – France – 14/09/2014

Circuit of choice for the European Le Mans Series, the Paul Ricard circuit is the one which has most often seen prototype and GT endurance racing action on its 5.8 km track.

Every year since the inception of the championship in 2004, competitors have found themselves on the Var circuit for the official launch of the season. First track in the world to offer new and original safety solutions, the Paul Ricard circuit is a benchmark in its field. It hosted the final ELMS race in 2013 and will host the penultimate round in 2014 on Sunday, 14 September.

ESTORIL – Portugal – 19/10/2014

The 2014 season will end at a new circuit for the ELMS. Located about 30km from Lisbon, the Estoril circuit was opened in 1972 and has undergone many transformations since its inception. It offers a unique configuration with a long straight that follows a series of highly technical sequences. It will require a versatile car, with a good burst of speed and agility in the corner complexes. The last time European endurance racing was at the track situated at the southernmost tip of Europe, it was part of the ILMC in 2011.
