Friedersdorf/Slovakia Ring (rol/ot) - After six weeks of summer break, the German Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf wants to influence the racings events of the FIA GT1 World Championship again this weekend (17th to 19th of August).
The series host SRO announced a new racing schedule during the summer break, now there are only four events left starting with the sixth season run on the Slovakia Ring. The race track in Slovakia had his GT1 championship premiere already at the beginning of June.
On this 5,922 Kilometre long track, the racing stable from Saxony with Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg) and Markus Winkelhock (Berglen-Steinach) in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 with starting number 38 finished on third at the one hour Championship Race.
The half time race at the beginning of July on the Algarve race track near Portimao (Portugal) ended even better for the Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport.
After the victory at the one hour Qualifying Race of Basseng/Winkelhock, the Team had a double success at the Championship Race with Nicky Pastorelli (Italy/Netherlands) and Thomas Jäger (Munich) in the sister car with starting number 37 finishing on first position ahead their team colleagues.
With this Gala the racing stable pulled out his lead at the team championships up to 44 points. And at the drivers rankings both duos upgraded their positions as well. Basseng and Winkelhock are on second position, Pastorelli and Jäger on fourth position.
"Our goal for the second season half is to pull out the lead at the team rankings and of course to upgrade positions at the drivers rankings“, team principal and racing stable owner René Münnich said. "Surely it won’t be easy in Slovakia, because the track doesn’t fit our Mercedes race cars too much.“
And the team manager Marc Basseng added: "We have to improve our performance at the qualifying, this way we can be on good positions in the races from the beginning. Finally, we want to knot on to the success we had before the summer break at the Algarve – to finish with podium placings.“
After the Slovakia Ring, three more racing weekends are scheduled for the modified second season half of the GT1 World: 1st/2nd of September in Moscow (Russia), from 21st to 23rd of September on the Nürburgring (Germany) and from 30th of November to 2nd of December in Delhi (India).
