Friedersdorf/Zolder (rol/ot)The German Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf aims at the second season event of the FIA GT1 World Championship this weekend (20th to 22nd of April) in Zolder (Belgium) with a good feeling. „About two weeks ago we had a great start into this year’s season of the GT1 world championships. We want to knot on to that in Zolder“, tells the team manager Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg), who is behind the wheel for the racing stable from Saxony same time. Together with Markus Winkelhock (Berglen-Steinach) he was on position three in the race car with starting number 38 at the Championship Race in Nogaro (France) ahead his team colleagues Nicky Pastorelli (Italy/Netherlands) and Thomas Jäger (Munich/all of them in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3) in the car with starting number 37.

„There is a good mood in the team. We worked on our strength, which is to be great as a team. The pit stops brought us up front, we concentrated on that a lot and we improved our performance“, explains team principal René Münnich. „Maybe we can manage it to be at the podium with both cars in Zolder. That is not going to be easy, because of the strong competitors.“ The clean performance on the car is limited persuasive by the team because of the Balance of Performance (BOP). „We will still have the handicap with the top speed in Zolder. The Mercedes is a solid and steady car and we rely on that“, tells Marc Basseng.

Before the each one hour lasting Qualifying Race (Saturday) and Championship Race (Sunday) the Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport is on the second position at the championship team rankings. At the drivers ranking Basseng/Winkelhock are on position three after two out of 20 season runs, Pastorelli/Jäger are on position four. „Our minimal goal for Zolder is to secure these positions at the rankings. Even better would of course be to develop that further.“ Last year Basseng/Winkelhock won both races in Zolder and got the first championship wins for the racing stable from Saxony at all. „We will know after the first few meters, if something like that is possible again“, explains Marc Basseng. The whole team is preparing for the races in Zolder in Belgium since Wednesday (18th of April). „We checked the cars at our domestic team location and hope to find a promising setup on track.“ That shall happen at the trainings and test drives on Thursday and Friday (19 th/20th of April).
