It was a hot day at Inje Speedium where Craft-Bamboo Racing set the third fastest time of the day during the qualifying session of the Asian Le Mans Series. Mathias Beche (SUI) drove #77 during the qualifying session, clocking 1 minute 27.79 seconds, placing the team third, behind the two leading LMP2’s.

The Ligier JS-53 Evo CN Prototype will be driven by Beche, Kevin Tse (MAC) and Frank Yu (HKG). Yu will start the race for the team tomorrow and is looking forward to a great start.

Beche, who took the car out during the half hour qualifying session and was happy with the result from the day. “It is a new car for the team and I really appreciate the atmosphere as everyone is trying to improve as everything is still pretty new for them. They are doing a great job and everyone has a great mentality, always trying to improve themselves, which is also how I work.

“As usual, in any competition, I will give my best. In the CN, it was quite a surprise as I didn’t think I could go under 28’s but we did 27’s. I would like to thank Craft-Bamboo Racing for the great work they are doing and congratulations to the mechanics for all their hard work on the car that helped get us this pole” said Beche.

Yu is glad to be back at the circuit, although he does miss the comforts of his Aston Martin and its traction control. “It is nice to be back in Inje, I just hope that it is a little less bumpy but in the CN you can feel everything. All we can do is just hope for a good result”.

For Tse it will be his first time at the circuit in Inje and already he is improving his time at every outing. “Its my first time here in Inje and the track is very bumpy, especially in the CN. Mathias did a great job and we are learning a lot from him. I am also happy that we are just three seconds off the lead”.

The three-hour Asian Le Mans Series is scheduled to begin on Sunday, 20 July with the Opening Ceremony at 2pm before the race, at 3pm.

Craft-Bamboo Racing’s campaign in the 2014 Asian LeMans Series can only be made possible with the continued support of the team sponsors; Gravity Partnership, POAD, Ravenol, Racerlink, Tunewear, Contempo, Pendelum and Orangebus.
