FORMULA 1 TEST FOR CHINESE DRIVER HO-PIN TUNG

Chinese racing driver Ho-Pin Tung has been invited by the Renault F1 Team to take part in the young driver test session, at the Jerez circuit, Spain , next week. Many Formula 1 teams will test their cars as well as promising young talent. It has been Ho-Pin Tung 's ambition to become China 's first ever Formula 1 driver since he started his career in karts many years ago and this test will help him move a step closer to realizing that dream.

Ho-Pin Tung is a member of the Gravity Sport Management programme, and enjoys a fruitful relationship with them. "We have worked hard together with Gravity in recent years; we have been able to compete in several challenging championships and, probably most important of all, we have gained a lot of valuable experience. Today we have come to the point where we can say we are at the threshold of Formula 1,' says Ho-Pin. On the international scene, China has obviously been a fast growing market for the last few years. Ho-Pin's competitiveness in motor racing should then get a lot of support from people and potential investors.

Ho-Pin Tung knows the Jerez track from his first Formula 1 experience with BMW Williams a few years ago. Ho-Pin was awarded that test because of his dominant performance in the Formula BMW Asia Championship.

During the last couple of weeks Ho-Pin has been busy preparing for the real thing, next week. Both physically and mentally he feels ready to complete a successful test session at Jerez once again. 'I don't want to say much prior to this test. Let's make my return to a Formula 1 car useful for the team in the first place by gathering valuable data about the car. I can not wait to get into the car next week.'

The happy driver adds: 'I am particularly grateful to the management of the Renault F1 Team and to Gravity Sport Management and my sponsors for making this all possible. I do take this opportunity with both hands, because Formula 1 is still my goal.'

A fairly large delegation of Chinese media , among them CCTV, will join Ho-Pin Tung in Jerez to cover the laps of the young Chinese driver.

Just a few weeks ago Ho-Pin Tung ended his Superleague Formula season with an outstanding victory at the Jarama circuit, also in Spain .
